Lighthouse of Christ is a church predicated on the foundation of the apostolic doctrine. In late 2014, after several years ministering in the field of evangelism within Central FL, Minister Daniel J. Maxwell received the call of ministry to establish a local mission in Winter Haven. While there were other ministries within the locale, the Lord placed a burden in the heart of Minister Maxwell to reach out to those who were wounded.  In late 2014, as Minister Maxwell walked into an insurance office, he noticed on the wall, two pictures of beautiful lighthouses with bright yellow lights, leading storm-battered ships to safety. Minister Maxwell knew this was no coincidence, but rather it was the birthing of the name of the new mission, Lighthouse of Christ.

Still reluctant to start the mission, Minister Maxwell prayed and asked the Lord to confirm his call. The Lord used three women to confirm the mission, even providing the finance to secure a building for the mission.  On March 1, 2015, Minister Maxwell with six people opened the doors to Lighthouse of Christ-Apostolic, sharing the edifice with All Nations Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 341 Ave P NW in Winter Haven. With the help of the honorable Elder Lenton Willis and the Apostolic Open Door of Lakeland, the members of Lighthouse of Christ being to evangelize the local community with the Acts 2:38 message of salvation.

As the ministry began to multiply, Minister Maxwell took a leap of faith in August of 2016.  During a time of prayer and consecration, the Lord opened a door for the ministry to secure a new headquarters at 4215 Recker Hwy in Winter Haven, FL.  Within 30 days the church worked tirelessly to renovate the new edifice.  In October of 2016, Lighthouse of Christ had their first service in their new home. The Lord has graced the ministry with diverse, loving, and devoted members. It is our desire to fulfill the Great Commission of God as we shine the love of Christ to this generation. To GOD be the glory, for the great things he has done!
